Weekly Photo Challenge: Hands

I don’t normally participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge on this site, simply because the theme of this blog does not normally lend itself to such articles.  But this week’s challenge took me captive when it reminded me of this unique artwork that has become such an intrinsic part of America’s heritage. Originally created during World War I by James Montgomery Flagg, it has weathered the decades of American men and women giving their all for the sake of winning and/or safeguarding that priceless commodity called “freedom,” for this nation and at least 40 others that I could name in less than five minutes. I thought this particular “hand” deserved a chance to be remembered.
