Careful, Don’t Trip Over the Elephant

From my gifted friend, Dennis N. O’Brien:
A bit of satire that “takes the bull by the horns” — or should I say takes the elephant by the tusks: This piece is straight-talking and long overdue in the U.S. Too bad it took an Australian poet to say it.

Please don’t be scared my friends, be calm;
It’s just some nuts – it’s not Islam.
The bombs, the killings, carnage, harm,
Has naught to do with true Islam.
That ranting, racist, mad Imam;
He doesn’t speak for true Islam.
You’re safe and sound – no need to arm;
Don’t heed the fools who fear Islam.
So feel secure – sound no alarm,
And put your faith in great Islam.
